Steaks:
2 lbs cube steaks
1 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp chili powder
4 tbsp oil, like vegetable oil
Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
1 cup onion, sliced
1/2 tsp browning liquid
2 tbsp flour mixture, from breading
2 cups beef stock (I used better than bouillon)
1/4 cup water + 1/4 cup corn starch, mixed
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Preheat oven to 325.
Mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder in a shallow bowl or tray.
Bread steaks in flour mixture. Heat oil in large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Cook steaks on each side approximately 2-3 minutes and remove, put aside.
Lower heat to medium. Add butter, once it begins to melt add the onions. Add 2 tbsp of flour mixture to the onions and stir to coat onions in flour.
Add in the broth and next corn starch. Add in Worcestershire sauce. Add in browning liquid. Whisk until thickened
Add meat back to pan and cover with gravy. Bake in oven for 25 minutes.
Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with parsley. Enjoy!
